Authentic & Rare
Authentic Mozambique cannabis seeds are not easy to come by. Sourcing seeds in the country of origin is challenging, making this rare African landrace the starting point for a very special limited edition.
We crossed it with a prized Satori Elite male to preserve its beautiful, uplifting Sativa character while adding the spiritual vibe and genetic potential of one of our most exceptional breeding lines.
The result brings an elusive piece of African cannabis heritage into a more refined and manageable form.
African Vigour
This is a tall, vigorous Sativa with the potential for impressive yields, but considerably less stretch and a shorter flowering time than the original Mozambique landrace.
Outdoors, the plants can be pruned into broad bushes carrying abundant colas, or allowed to express their natural Sativa stature when space permits.
Expect healthy growth, strong plants and resinous, flavourful buds that show what happens when an exclusive African landrace meets generations of Mandala selection.

From India to East Africa
Cannabis is not native to Africa. Historical research traces its arrival in East Africa from South Asia through the ancient Indian Ocean trade routes, probably around a thousand years ago.
From the East African coast, the plant spread through local trade and migration and became firmly established in African agriculture and culture.
Mozambique has a particularly long documented relationship with cannabis, where it is traditionally known as suruma or seruma.
Portuguese observers were already recording its use there in the late sixteenth century.
By the 1790s, Mozambicans were cultivating cannabis for its psychoactive flowers, while the stems were used to make cordage and the leaves in topical medicinal preparations.
Heritage Genetics
Once cannabis reached Africa, it developed a history of its own. Generations of cultivation and selection produced distinctive African populations adapted to local environments, while Africans also transformed cannabis culture itself. Cannabis smoking appears to have been an African innovation that would eventually spread far beyond the continent.
In Mozambique, cannabis has survived generations of intense sun, seasonal drought and torrential rains. Our Mozambique Sativa reflects that heritage with remarkable vigour, heat and drought tolerance, efficient nutrient uptake and the resilience to withstand difficult outdoor conditions.
This is what makes the genetics so valuable today: an old African Sativa shaped far from the modern commercial breeding world, and carrying survival traits that still reveal where it came from.
Mozambique Sativa x Satori Elite brings together a rare African landrace with one of our prized Satori breeding lines. Authentic Mozambique genetics are not easily found, and sourcing seeds in the country of origin can be challenging.
For this limited edition of regular seeds, we selected a vigorous Mozambique Sativa mother and crossed her with a Satori Elite male to retain the uplifting African character while improving flavour, potency, resin production and overall cultivation performance.
The original Mozambique Sativa has a remarkably pleasant high. Rather than the edgy or racy character sometimes associated with potent African Sativas, the effect is uplifting, positive and mentally clear. Satori Elite complements these qualities beautifully, adding another dimension to the cerebral and mind-expanding experience while shortening flowering time and reducing the excessive stretch of the landrace mother.
One of the most valuable qualities inherited from Mozambique is resilience. The landrace is adapted to demanding conditions that include intense heat, heavy rain, strong winds and periods of drought. It also shows excellent vigour, efficient nutrient uptake and resistance to certain pests such as aphids. Combined with the hardiness of our Mandala genetics, these traits make the hybrid particularly attractive for outdoor and guerrilla cultivation.
Mozambique Sativa x Satori Elite feels at home in hot-dry and Mediterranean climates as well as warm-humid and tropical regions. Growers in places such as Hawaii, Thailand and Australia should find the genetics especially interesting.
The plants can grow tall outdoors and develop into substantial producers, so container and greenhouse growers should start later in the season if moderate plant size is required. Pruning is another option and encourages broad, bushy plants with abundant colas.
Indoor cultivation is surprisingly straightforward for a hybrid with tropical landrace ancestry. Seeds germinate readily and develop into beautiful, vigorous seedlings. In soil, switching to 12/12 around three weeks after germination helps control height and keeps the total cultivation period manageable. Cuttings can be flowered even sooner. Pruning may still be useful in grow tents where vertical space is limited.
Good light intensity is important indoors because the Mozambique mother is a semi-domesticated Sativa accustomed to natural sunlight. We observed healthy, vigorous growth under white LED lighting, but the plants should not be expected to perform their best under weak illumination. A bright grow space and comfortable room temperatures allow the hybrid to express its full potential.
The aroma is one of the pleasures of the finished harvest. Tropical passion fruit leads the bouquet, layered with earthy incense undertones. Break open the buds and spice and fresh pine emerge, creating an exotic combination that lingers after smoking and reflects the unusual heritage behind the cross.
The high is stimulating and cerebral, with an emphasis on mental clarity, focus and positive energy. It can support creativity and productivity without pushing the experience into an unpleasantly nervous direction. The Mozambique Sativa is also known in its country of origin for traditional spiritual and healing use, a quality that finds a natural partner in Satori.
Together, these genetics can take the experience beyond ordinary recreational use. The expansive, mind-opening character lends itself to meditation, creative pursuits and spending time immersed in nature.
For us, this is one of the most fascinating aspects of the cross: rare African genetics with their own distinctive personality, brought together with Satori without losing the character that made the Mozambique mother worth preserving in the first place.
Broad spectrum use
Our organic cannabis seeds are fresh, fully ripened and handcrafted. Each batch is pre-tested for 100% germination and can be easily germinated directly in quality seedling soil.
In Europe, Compo Sana Seedling Mix is an excellent choice. Popular options in North America include Burpee Seed Starting Mix, Pro-Mix Organic Seed Starting Mix and Fox Farm Light Warrior Seed Starter.
Give the seed embryo the best chance to emerge from its shell. If you grow organically, investing in quality seedling soil is one of the simplest ways to get your plants off to a healthy start. We have seen many germination problems caused by peat pellets and Jiffy tabs, where the acidic pH can interfere with germination. Coco coir bricks and other compressed growing blocks can also result in poor germination rates.
There is no need to soak our seeds or use other pre-germination methods. We recommend planting them directly into seedling soil. We cannot accept responsibility for germination results when seeds are soaked in water or germinated in paper tissues.
WARNING: Do NOT lower the pH of your water with acids such as “pH-Down” products containing nitric or phosphoric acid. These can be fatal to young seedlings when growing in soil. We have used inexpensive vinegar to lower the pH of our water for 35 years. It is non-toxic and harmless to the plants when used correctly.
For soil cultivation, the correct water pH is 6.2–6.5. Please consult our Water & pH Guide for more information.
