Ganesh Berry

From the Garhwal Trail

Ganesh Berry starts with two standout parents.

Our vigorous, resin-rich Ganesh traces back to rare North Indian Sativa genetics from Uttarkashi, where wild cannabis trails snake along the Bhagirathi River valley toward the holy temple of Gangotri and travelling sadhus traditionally harvest the plant for ritual use.

Subcool's cult-favourite Plushberry became famous for an intense berry flavour from its Black Cherry Soda genetics. The lineage goes back to the famous Romulan and C99 strains.

Recognizing the potential of Ganesh, Zion Botanicals chose it for one of their earliest breeding projects. Years later, we further developed that original cross, and brought Ganesh Berry back as this limited edition.

Beauty & Power

Ganesh Berry combines the rich qualities of its parents with the vigour, stamina and efficiency Mandala genetics are known for.

Expect XL yield, strong heat and pest resistance, and two phenotypes: with the purple plants capable of spectacular magenta to near-black hues.

Resin, yield, flavour, and real grower appeal!

Aroma & Effects

Ganesh Berry layers Plushberry’s lush fruity-berry character over the earthy, musky and cocoa-like undertones of the Ganesh parent.

The potent high is versatile:

  • Standard doses bring the imaginative Sativa side forward with a steady flow of ideas for creative daytime activity.

  • Adjust the dose up for a laid-back, meditative mood without heavy couch lock. A wonderful evening buzz to still the mind, relax the body and eventually glide into restful sleep.

Users also report muscle relaxation and relief from stress, anxiety, nausea, pain, loss of appetite, headaches and sleeplessness.

A valuable medical marijuana strain for homegrowers, dispensaries and cannapreneurs.

Ganesh Berry is the brainchild of Zion Botanicals in Washington State, who tested several Mandala strains in their greenhouses and were particularly impressed by our Ganesh. So much so, one of their earliest creations was an enticing high-THC cross between Ganesh and TGA’s Plushberry. The genetics were never available commercially, since Zion Botanicals primarily produces marijuana for dispensaries. We did however receive seeds from them and selected plants for further development, producing the current limited edition.

Both Plushberry and Ganesh are known for their amazing resin content and medical benefits, and these features have been carefully preserved. TGA’s Plushberry earned a popular following for its delicious flavours and well-balanced effects.

However, there is often a big difference between savouring the finished product from a dispensary and going through all the steps of growing the plants yourself. That is where our work comes in: to facilitate successful and easy cultivation through optimized plant genetics.

Ganesh raised the quality of the cultivation experience by adding the signature hallmarks of Mandala genetics: vigour, stamina, yield, heat and pest resistance, and nutrient efficiency. The result is a revitalized marijuana strain that performs exceptionally in both organic soil cultivation and hydroponics.

This limited edition of Ganesh Berry has two major phenotypes: dark purple and green. There are some variations in stretch, but the differences are well managed even in small indoor spaces. If you prefer growing large bushes instead of a Sea of Green, the strain also does very well under sufficient lighting as a multi-branched plant.

Indoors, you can pinch off the top after three weeks. In soil, we recommend five weeks of growth for topped plants from seed. Single-cola plants (unpruned) require only four weeks of growth before starting the 12/12 light cycle.

Ganesh Berry has a unique aroma palette of fruity and berry tones from the Black Cherry Soda parentage of Plushberry, complemented by sweet, earthy and musky scents. Black Cherry Soda also contributes to the stunning magenta to dark purple-black hues of the buds and upper fan leaves of the purple phenotype. These attractive plants can deliver the winning bud shot in a photo contest.

You will find various strain details about Zion’s Ganesh Berry on the internet, but they are not entirely accurate. For example, it is not a pure Indica. Ganesh includes North Indian Sativa genetics from the province of Uttarakhand, and even Plushberry has some Sativa.

The high is also not purely sedative or couch lock, since the Sativa side adds psychoactive versatility. You are more likely to experience tranquil, relaxing effects at higher doses, but in a way that is sublimely laid back and meditative rather than a mind-numbing stone. In smaller doses, the imaginative Sativa influence comes to the forefront, initiating a steady flow of ideas.

This makes Ganesh Berry particularly supportive for writing and editing projects. THC levels are in the mid 20's on average. We suggest dosing incrementally, starting low, to find the sweet spot for your creative or daytime activity. The long-lasting high invites you to recline comfortably, listen to music and watch the clouds go by. It’s a wonderful evening buzz to still the mind, relax the body and eventually glide into a restful sleep.

Ganesh Berry has a wide range of medical properties typical of more Indica-dominant marijuana. Adjust dosage as needed.

  • muscle relaxation
  • general pain relief
  • migraine and headache relief
  • improved sleep
  • appetite stimulant

It can lower anxiety and stress levels, melting away tension and soothing high-strung nerves.

Our organic cannabis seeds are fresh, fully ripened and handcrafted. Each batch is pre-tested for 100% germination and can be easily germinated directly in quality seedling soil.

In Europe, Compo Sana Seedling Mix is an excellent choice. Popular options in North America include Burpee Seed Starting Mix, Pro-Mix Organic Seed Starting Mix and Fox Farm Light Warrior Seed Starter.

Give the seed embryo the best chance to emerge from its shell. If you grow organically, investing in quality seedling soil is one of the simplest ways to get your plants off to a healthy start. We have seen many germination problems caused by peat pellets and Jiffy tabs, where the acidic pH can interfere with germination. Coco coir bricks and other compressed growing blocks can also result in poor germination rates.

There is no need to soak our seeds or use other pre-germination methods. We recommend planting them directly into seedling soil. We cannot accept responsibility for germination results when seeds are soaked in water or germinated in paper tissues.

WARNING: Do NOT lower the pH of your water with acids such as “pH-Down” products containing nitric or phosphoric acid. These can be fatal to young seedlings when growing in soil. We have used inexpensive vinegar to lower the pH of our water for 35 years. It is non-toxic and harmless to the plants when used correctly.

For soil cultivation, the correct water pH is 6.2–6.5. Please consult our Water & pH Guide for more information.

A growers dream

As with the Satori seeds (both regular), all seeds germinated and show the vigor growth of regular seeds. Unfortunately I cannot yet determinate how many of them are female..... Will update my review soon

Love your strains

I found a pheno in Ganesh Berry that finished incredibly early and made me want to dance for hours with no come down, that's why I ordered 10 more seeds. Mandala seeds team is the best in the universe, seriously! Wishing you all the best with all your crosses and passions. I only smoke Mandala medicine these days - I can't bother with anything else.

New beginnings...

Just one female grown and then cloned x4. Excellent vigour in these for a more 'indica' type plant. Very attractive in looks, being extremely stocky and broad. These are being vegged a little longer than normal in large containers to produce a nice branching framework, helps with yield and gets around 'mouldy top cola syndrome' that comes with my humid environment. Stem rubs are currently very good, deep notes in the Afghan realm coupled with a fruity component, kind of similar to the scented pencil erasers of yesteryear. Room smells of dark chocolate with musky sweetness. They have a way to go yet but really looking forward to flowering as I know these will be top notch on yield and quality. Impressive stuff as ever, cheers folks!

Terpene bomb & pest resistant

She grows branchy, dark leaves and fine beautiful leaves around the buds. Aromas are so nice and berry, a little cream? and gas. I had one smelling intense like rose and berries. The high is smooth and pleasant, while not numbing you totally, depending on dose. Simply one of the finest cannasseur style quality
