A Cult Classic
Hashberry created quite a stir when it first appeared and was soon voted into the High Times ‘Top 10’ by popular choice.
More than 20 years later, the strain remains unchanged and has lost none of its incredible performance. If you grew Hashberry back in 2006, you’ll recognize the same plants today. We still get fan mail from growers who remember their first Hashberry garden!
Preserving that consistency across generations is an accomplishment we’re especially proud of. Hashberry is a true Mandala classic that has stood the test of time.
Hashy & Berry
Hashberry develops a heavy main cola. Buds are dense, if not rock hard, buds throughout the plant and sit on firm side shoots. Outdoors, the plants grow into short, broad and bushy trees carrying massive colas that can challenge the scale. A very storm-proof strain!
Even the bud leaves can become coated in thick THC glands, adding plenty of fragrance and resin for extraction, or great bag appeal after drying.
And despite all that flower, Hashberry remains refreshingly easy to manicure.

Hard 2 Kill
The plants are medium height indoors and fit beautifully into SOG gardens and tents. Outdoors in the ground, expect broad, productive bushes with a 'baseball bat' sized main cola and bumper crops.
Hashberry earned its “hard-2-kill” reputation through incredible hybrid vigour, high heat and pest resistance, and a forgiving nature that takes much of the work out of cultivation.
We've heard stories of lamps falling on the plants, animals eating the crop, or nasty plant care errors, but Hashberry is like a cat with nine lives and keeps going.
Extremely beginner friendly!

Aroma & Effects
During flowering, the buds release a refreshing fruity-floral scent that transforms after proper drying and maturation into Hashberry’s delicious signature: a rich hashy-berry aroma.
The effect is classic soothing Indica that keeps you functional, settling into a chilling vibe that has made Hashberry a longtime favourite among stoners and dispensaries.
The 'Hashy Berry Bliss' is an old-school combination that's rare to find nowadays.

Hashberry needs little introduction! It created quite a stir in the cannabis community when it was first released, was soon voted into the High Times ‘Top 10’ by popular choice, and has remained a favourite ever since. More than 20 years later, the strain is still going strong and has lost none of its incredible performance.
Hashberry is the result of rigorous selection from desirable parents, with special attention paid to preserving the hybrid vigour our strains are valued for. That vigour helped establish its reputation as being “hard-2-kill”.
The plants are heat resistant, forgiving and remarkably easy to grow, while their medium height makes them a good choice where space matters and excellent for SOG cultivation.
Indoors, Hashberry develops a tight, heavy head bud with dense flowers along firm side shoots. Outdoors, the plants grow into short, broad and bushy trees with incredible 'baseball bat' sized colas that challenge any scale.
Supersize bumper crops are possible in moderate climates or during a friendly autumn. Even in cooler areas such as Oregon, Hashberry can perform well, particularly in a greenhouse.
Resin production is another defining feature. Many plants develop a generous coat of THC glands across the bud leaves, making Hashberry an excellent choice for resin extraction. Despite the dense flowers and heavy resin coverage, the harvest remains easy to manicure and the dried buds have great bag appeal.
During flowering, the buds release a refreshing fruity-floral scent. After proper drying and maturation, the fragrance transforms into the delicious hashy-berry or blackcurrent jam aroma that gave Hashberry its name.
This is a classic chill-out weed. An expansive Indica stone with a powerful high that sets in with the first lung full of smoke. The buzz is first light headed and very balanced before switching to a stronger body stone towards the end of your flight.
Behind Hashberry is a breeding story stretching back to San Francisco in the late 1980s. Seeded Indica buds collected by chance in Haight-Ashbury eventually provided the genetic base for the Hashberry mother, which was later crossed with our special J7 male from the landrace hybrids used in the Sadhu lineage.
Even the name carries a piece of that history: Hashberry refers not only to the resinous buds and characteristic aroma, but also a wordplay (Haight-Ashbury), where those Californian seeds first came into our hands.
Hashberry has long been popular among medical users and caregivers for its soothing Indica effect. It is also a popular choice for cooking and baking.
Reported benefits include:
- anxiety relief
- improved sleep
- moderate pain relief
- calming and relaxation
In the late 1980s, we were in San Francisco and ran into a middle-aged hippie in Haight-Ashbury, the “center of the universe” during the psychedelic flower power movement. He was driving a purple van with orange-red curtains and was just on his way to the Rainbow Gathering.
After a friendly chat, he gave us a bag of seeded weed and disappeared. We rolled a joint right then and there and walked down the street. The only thing was, we couldn’t feel our feet anymore. We were flying!
From these seeded Indica buds, we developed over the years the genetic base for the mother of Hashberry. She was crossed with a special male (J7) that is part of the landrace hybrids we use in our Sadhu lineage, but is not identical with the parents of Sadhu.
Hashberry is not only named after its unique aroma and resiny buds. The name is also a wordplay on the famous Haight-Ashbury neighbourhood, where we were fortunate enough to collect these special Californian seeds.
Our organic cannabis seeds are fresh, fully ripened and handcrafted. Each batch is pre-tested for 100% germination and can be easily germinated directly in quality seedling soil.
In Europe, Compo Sana Seedling Mix is an excellent choice. Popular options in North America include Burpee Seed Starting Mix, Pro-Mix Organic Seed Starting Mix and Fox Farm Light Warrior Seed Starter.
Give the seed embryo the best chance to emerge from its shell. If you grow organically, investing in quality seedling soil is one of the simplest ways to get your plants off to a healthy start. We have seen many germination problems caused by peat pellets and Jiffy tabs, where the acidic pH can interfere with germination. Coco coir bricks and other compressed growing blocks can also result in poor germination rates.
There is no need to soak our seeds or use other pre-germination methods. We recommend planting them directly into seedling soil. We cannot accept responsibility for germination results when seeds are soaked in water or germinated in paper tissues.
WARNING: Do NOT lower the pH of your water with acids such as “pH-Down” products containing nitric or phosphoric acid. These can be fatal to young seedlings when growing in soil. We have used inexpensive vinegar to lower the pH of our water for 35 years. It is non-toxic and harmless to the plants when used correctly.
For soil cultivation, the correct water pH is 6.2–6.5. Please consult our Water & pH Guide for more information.
